Fiona
Behaviour Support Practitioner
Hello. My name is Fiona.
To my role as a Behaviour Support Practitioner at iCan Support Services, I bring a Bachelor of Social Work (Honors 1st) degree, a background working in behaviour change (accountability) and family violence roles and over 4 years’ experience in supporting NDIS participants in positive behaviour support.
Specializing in supporting NDIS participants across the lifespan who may experience complexity through multiple systems involvement, I focus on building strong relationships and collaborative working partnerships with stakeholders, care teams, and participants to achieve their goals, improve quality of life, and thrive.
I am passionate about building lived experience knowledge through research and advocating for social justice system change.
Key professional accomplishments include participating in the development of Respectful Relationships pilot program (now rolled out across Victorian Primary schools’ curriculum), publications of original research in British Social Work Journal and education policy analysis and presenting original research in an international forum.
When I am not supporting participants, I enjoy running, football, swimming, spending time in nature and with family and friends, reading, cooking, and hiking.
I am well known for my fondness for all things chicken related and regularly befriend magpies (my spirit animal AND my footy team).
I am also studying at Deakin University to complete a PhD in the social justice research field.
Here at iCan support services we strive to provide quality services with integrity, accountability, and compassion.
We are building a strong practice through practitioners with shared values and look forward to supporting you through collaboration as we develop and grow alongside our participants.
